Intrepid New Yorkers make 12th Annual Sacred Sites Open House a Success

Thank You! Sacred Sites Open House

Hundreds of intrepid New Yorkers around the city and state braved record-busting temperatures to tour more than 80 historic Sacred Sites. Architects, pastors, archivists, local historians, and docents led curated tours from Abyssinian Baptist in Harlem to First Ukrainian Assembly of God in the East Village, from the basement horse troughs of Flatbush Reformed Church to the Tiffany and Lafarge stained glass of Lafayette Avenue Presbyterian in Fort Greene.

Upstate visitors enjoyed tours from the Hudson Valley to downtown Troy and Albany to Syracuse, Binghamton, Buffalo, and Jamestown. The weather did not stop Conservancy members and die-hard history and architecture fans from visiting multiple sites a day.

We look forward to seeing your submissions to our photo contest – and to seeing everyone again next year when the event will return to its more temperate May schedule!
