Historic Properties Fund Celebrates 40 Years of Preservation Loans

We were excited to hold our reception last night on the rooftop of the Federal Archive Building. It was wonderful to see past and current borrowers, colleagues, and friends in-person to celebrate.

The Historic Properties Fund is one of the oldest and largest revolving loan funds in the country. The Fund began in the early 1980s when the Conservancy partnered with several public agencies to redevelop the Archive Building in Greenwich Village into residential, commercial, and semi-public uses and establish a revolving loan fund from the net revenues. Today, the Fund boasts a near-zero default rate, provides comprehensive project management assistance, and funds restoration work across the city.
