Public Buildings Inventory

In 1977 the New York Landmarks Conservancy released its Public Buildings Inventory. This inventory documented 760 federal, state, and city-owned buildings of architectural interest in New York City. Each building was photographed and cataloged.

The Conservancy added our Public Building Inventory on Urban Archive, a technology non-profit focusing on the architecture, culture, and unique stories of New York.  Visit the site and pick a dot on the map showing the location of all the buildings and see a picture and description of a school, library, or armory. Some have been lost, but most still anchor their neighborhoods. We look forward to continuing to share our amazing collection of projects and stories.
