We were thrilled to be back at The Plaza for our 2021 Living Landmarks Celebration and delighted so many of our friends could join us.

“We inaugurated the Living Landmarks Celebration to recognize extraordinary New Yorkers who give back so much to the City we love. This year, as in the past, was no exception with another outstanding class of honorees,” said Peg Breen, President of The New York Landmarks Conservancy.

It was our great pleasure to recognize the many contributions of these exceptional New Yorkers:

Marina Kellen French, President of the Marina Kellen French Foundation

David R. Jones, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Community Service Society of New York

Patricia D. Klingenstein, Klingenstein Philanthropies

Gilbert C. Maurer, Hearst

Morton Olshan, Founder and Chairman Emeritus, Olshan Properties

Jonelle Procope, President and Chief Executive Officer, The Apollo Theater

We also want to thank our wonderful Living Landmark alumni who served as Honorary Co-Chairs

Gordon J. Davis, ‘20
Ronnie Heyman, ‘20
Leni and Peter May, ‘20
Daryl Roth and Jordan Roth, ‘14
Robert E. Wankel, ‘15

And of course, our terrific Master of Ceremonies
Stephen S. Lash, ‘18

Proceeds from our Living Landmarks Celebration will help the City get back on its feet. Since the beginning of the pandemic, we’ve disbursed $4.6 million in grants and low-interest loans which have leveraged $54 million in renovating and restoring homes, businesses, cultural, religious, and social institutions throughout New York … providing local jobs for architects, carpenters, contractors, engineers, masons, roofers and so on.
