More than 500 persons gathered in the Grand Ballroom of The Plaza last night for the Conservancy’s 24th annual Living Landmarks Celebration. The event raised more than $1.2 million.
The guests applauded the accomplishments of honorees David Patrick Columbia, Suydam (Sydie) Lansing, Frank Stella, Robert A.M. Stern, Patsy and Jeff Tarr, Marica and Jan Vilcek, and Tom Wolfe.
Veronica and Ray Kelly served as Honorary Co-Chairs. Paul Binder served as MC and Peter Duchin’s orchestra performed.
The audience included past honorees: Barbara Taylor Bradford OBE and Robert Bradford, Louise Hirschfeld Cullman and Lewis Cullman, David Dinkins, Agnes Gund, Marian S. Heiskell, Larry Leeds, Dr. Mitchell Rosenthal, E. John Rosenwald, Daryl Roth, and Nina and Tim Zagat.
Each year the Conservancy recognizes distinguished New Yorkers who have made extraordinary contributions to the City and honors them as Living Landmarks.
The evening generates significant resources for the Conservancy’s financial and technical programs that help property owners protect the iconic buildings and historic neighborhoods that define New York.
